Safety & Infrastructure
Keep the Roads Clear We’ve had a few concerns regarding roadside parking. As a reminder, if you are parking regularly on the roadside, please ensure all four tires are off the roadway. This is crucial for keeping our roads wide enough for emergency vehicles and snow plows to navigate safely.
Traffic & Speeding Speeding remains a "hot topic" for many of us. We are currently:
In contact with Boulder County regarding data-driven traffic calming steps.
Awaiting a new neighborhood resource website being developed by the county to address these specific concerns.
Reaching out to CDOT for state-level input and guidance.
We also have a past blog about this found here
Water testing...There is a free PFAS test that can be done through the state. Details are here.
FireWise & Wildfire Protection
We are officially preparing our FireWise application! Our submission is based on the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) which was recently approved.
How you can help: Part of our application involves proving "fire hardening" efforts in the neighborhood. If you have done work on your property to make it more fire-resistant, please email your receipts to crestview.cerg@gmail.com. Your work helps the whole community stay safe and recognized!
Calling All Artists!
You’ve likely seen the beautiful painted electrical boxes in other communities—and we want Crestview to join in!
The Box Design Competition:
The Plan: We want to paint the switching/electrical boxes at the entrance.
The Need: CERG will provide the supplies, but we need your talent! Winning design(s)/artist(s) will paint the boxes.
How to Enter: Email your design ideas to crestview.cerg@gmail.com.
The Vote: We will hold a poll on the website to let the neighborhood choose the winning designs.
Website & Digital News
Tech Fix: We had a small battle with some bots recently! In the process of fixing it, the Google/Facebook login was briefly broken. It is now fixed—thank you for your patience.
Guest Bloggers Wanted: Do you have a story or a topic you're passionate about? Write a guest post and submit it crestview.cerg@gmail.com for review at our next meeting!
Looking Ahead: The Spring Meeting
We are already planning for our Spring Meeting, and the primary focus will be Mountain Pine Beetles.
We are working with CSU/Colorado State Forest Service, and Boulder County Parks and Open Space to secure an educational guest speaker. We are even exploring the idea of a "hands-on" experience where we can walk the neighborhood to identify infestations.
Note: We will post a poll for dates and locations once we have the speaker confirmed. Our goal is to get this information to you early so we can take action as the weather warms up!
Stay connected, stay safe, and let’s see those art designs!
